In March 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic has arrived in Malaysia. With the staggering number of cases every day and until August 2021 Malaysia reported death 13,077. Along with all the illness and death, the pandemic brought widespread economic disruption. The business closed and people being losing their job and unemployed. Some of them surged with depression as they lost their income, especially for the breadwinner.
However, life must go on and all need to survive for self and family. At a time when many companies are working remotely, operating at limited capacity, or shut down completely, it may seem like there are few, if any, opportunities to achieve business growth. Despite these setbacks, there are ways to make the most of the current circumstances and continue growing your business during the COVID-19 pandemic.
What is actually to be done as we need to start the business?
Be strategic in digital marketing efforts
This effort needs us to think of the best way to grab customer attention to our products. Besides that, the business owner needs to create the best promotion and sales to get customers.
Actively and communicate with the customer
The situation is evolving rapidly, and no one is quite sure what news each day will bring. Customers can empathize with merchants facing a crisis, as long as we communicate with them properly. As we currently use social media, let the customer knows and sees that we are active virtually. We need to always be the fast response to any customers inquiries. Please bear in do not let the customers hanging and waiting for the response too long.
Promote gifts or special offers to the customers
As to grab the customer’s attention, we perhaps can offer the customer free shipping cost when they reach a certain amount during purchasing. Besides that, we can have a win-win situation with the customers. Now is a good time to entice long-term purchases with discounts. It is possible with the business model, we encourage customers to lock in for membership now and get a discount for their next purchase.
“There is always the opportunity for uniqueness and compelling products regardless of the economy, but in these times, it requires a careful and well-executed approach”.
Mark Kohlenberg, founder, Milwaukee Boot Company
In this current pandemic situation nothing much we could expect, unless except all that comes, and always be prepared. All need to survive and always find the opportunity to grow.
