Since 2003, the International Labor Organization (ILO) celebrates World Day for Safety and Health at Work. This commemoration is carried out to promote awareness in employers to ensure their workers a decent and free of risks job, that threaten their integrity and quality of life.

Every year, to celebrate World Day for Safety and Health at Work, the ILO launches a specific campaign and issues a report on it. For this 2021, due to the existence of the COVID-19 pandemic and the consequences it has brought to all work centers, the campaign is called “Anticipate crises, prepare and respond: Invest today in resilient health and safety systems at work that help to mitigate and prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus in the workplace. “ The report summarizes how the COVID 19 crisis highlights the importance of strengthening and investing in Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) systems, including occupational health services, to mitigate and prevent the spread of the COVID-19 in the workplace.
